Copper Plates: A Metal That Marries Tradition with Technology

A copper plate is a plate-like material made of copper, a common Non-ferrous metal used widely for its good electrical, thermal and corrosion resistance. Copper plates may have different alloy compositions to meet the requirements of different applications. Conductive copper is an excellent conductive material, so the copper plate is often used in electrical and electronic fields, such as circuit board manufacturing. Thermal conductive copper has excellent thermal conductivity, so it is often used in some applications that need heat dissipation, such as making heat sink corrosion-resistant copper has better corrosion resistance; it can be used in some environments where corrosion resistance is required. Machinable copper can be easily processed into various shapes. It can be processed by cutting, stamping, welding, etc.; therefore, some need of decorative applications are also common, such as architectural decoration.

Application areas of copper plate

Electrical and electronic industry: The copper plate is widely used in the manufacture of wire and cable, switch sockets, transformers, circuit breakers, low-voltage air switch conductive accessories and other electrical products. In the electronics industry, copper plate is used as one of the basic materials of printed circuit board (PCB).

Construction industry: copper plates can be used as building materials for roofing, walls, doors, win, dows, etc., because of their beauty and durability. In addition, the copper plate can also be used in the basement, garage, pool and other buildings’ waterproof works to improve the service life of the building and safety.

Copper plates are widely used in the construction industry

Mechanical manufacturing industry: Copperplate and its alloy (such as aluminum bronze) because of high strength, elasticity and wear resistance, is used in the manufacture of hardware, mechanical parts, aerospace parts. It is also widely used in industrial active lathes and CNC lathes.

Shipbuilding, automotive and aerospace industries: certain types of copper alloy plates (such as C93800 tin bronze plates), due to their superior corrosion resistance, strength and processability, are used in ships, automobiles (such as engine parts, gears and braking systems) and aerospace (such as aircraft, rocket and spacecraft parts) and other fields.
